About Us: Kiangure Springs Environment Initiative
Kiangure Springs Environment Initiative (KSEI) is a grassroots development organization that has its roots deeply embedded in the nurturing of communities and ecosystems. Our journey began as a local training and capacity-building project aimed at fostering environmental awareness and uplifting the livelihoods of both rural and urban communities.
Today, Kiangure Springs Environment Initiative stands proudly as a registered Community Based Organization, operating under the laws of Kenya. Our focus is clear – we are dedicated to strengthening the resilience of communities in the face of the challenges posed by climate change, specifically within the Aberdare and Mt. Kenya ecosystem, situated in the Upper Tana region of Kenya. Our project area lies on the eastern fringes of the majestic Aberdare Forest.
We believe in the power of collaboration and inclusivity. KSEI serves as a public forum that unites various stakeholders, harnessing their collective efforts to create a more profound impact on the landscape of Nyeri County and beyond.
At Kiangure Springs Environment Initiative, our mission is to uplift the communities within the Upper Tana catchment area by reducing poverty through the enhancement of livelihood systems. We do this while fostering the conservation of community natural resources and championing initiatives that promote improved environmental management and governance.
Our vision is to empower communities, empowering them with an elevated level of awareness and comprehension of both local and global environmental issues. Simultaneously, we work towards enhancing their livelihood systems. Through our vision, we strive to nurture communities capable of actively engaging with and addressing environmental challenges while bettering their own lives.
At Kiangure Springs Environment Initiative, we are committed to a sustainable future, where communities and ecosystems thrive in harmony. We invite you to join us on this transformative journey towards a more resilient and environmentally conscious world. Together, we can make a difference.
